If you’ve ever been in front of my camera, you already know this: I talk. A lot. Not because I love the sound of my own voice (I promise), but because I truly believe connection makes better photos. And honestly, if we can laugh about how awkward it feels to “act natural,” we’re already halfway there.
When I first started photography, I thought it was all about settings and posing. Nope. Turns out, it’s mostly about helping people feel comfortable enough to forget there’s a camera pointed at them. And maybe reminding them to breathe once in a while.
Savannah helps, too. There’s something about the slow pace, the Spanish moss, and the humidity that feels like a built-in beauty filter. (Okay, sometimes the humidity is more of a challenge than a feature — but it does give us great hair volume, right?)
Before every shoot, I like to hop on a free consultation call. It’s not some stiff, professional meeting — think of it more like a quick coffee chat, minus the caffeine jitters. We talk about what you’re dreaming up for your shoot, what kind of vibe you’re going for, and honestly, we just get to know each other. Because if we can laugh together beforehand, your photos will feel way more like you and way less like a Sears portrait from 1998.
Whether it’s a wedding, a newborn snuggle session, a branding shoot, or a family running wild under oak trees — my goal is always the same: capture the real stuff. The in-between moments. The ones that make you smile when you’re scrolling your gallery later thinking, “Oh my gosh, that’s so us.”
So if you’re nervous about booking photos because you think you’re “awkward” in front of the camera — welcome to the club. I’ll probably say something ridiculous, trip over my own camera bag, and make you laugh anyway. That’s when the magic happens.
Thanks for being here and for trusting me with your moments — big or small, polished or messy. They all deserve to be remembered (and maybe even slightly retouched for the humidity frizz).
